TEHRAN -- The Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) on Monday blasted statements by U.S. President George W. Bush describing OIC members Iraq and Iran, as well as North Korea, as an "axis of evil".
"The recent statements and campaigns against Islamic countries are unjustified and would make the international coalition against terror lose its credibility," Secretary General Abdulwahed Belkeziz said in a statement in Jeddah on Monday, AFP reported.
"Based on this ... the OIC rejects directing accusations without providing conclusive evidence, particularly in light of the negative approach towards the serious escalation and illegal and oppressive Israeli practices in Palestine," he said.
